The best conditions for rock climbing in the Świętokrzyski Region can be found in the area of Kadzielnia, Góra Zelejowa, Stokówka, Ciosowa, Wykień, and Tumlin. Climbing routes range from 6 to 15 meters in length and do not exceed the difficulty rate of VI.4. However, it is vitaly important to check if you are not on the nature reserve and if the object itself is not a monument of inanimate nature. Experienced members of the Świętokrzyski Alpine Club of Kielce provide information about possibilities of practicing rock climbing in the region and about safety precautions on climbing routes. The club organizes national competitions in winter rock climbing, rock climbing courses, demonstrations of mountain rescue techniques, collection of wastes within the framework of the International Earth Day, rope games for children, and cooperates with the “I’ve Got a Dream Foundation”. It’s certainly worth an effort to consult expert climbers of the club in order to minimize hazards of rock climbing exploits. Bouldering or climbing man-made walls without any rope is also extremely popular. There are some man-made walls available, but in the Świętokrzyski Region bouldering can be practiced on natural ascents as well. Convenient conditions for that style of climbing are offered by Brody Iłżeckie near Starachowice, Skała Nihilistów near Ćmielów or Kamień Michniowski, which constitutes a forest nature reserve on the territory of the Sieradowicki Landscape Park and therefore should be treated with an appropriate care and respect.
