The Museum of the White Eagle in Skarżysko-Kamienna has been already functioning for 35 years. It is located in a historical building of the “Rejów” Mill from the 19th century. The Museum collections are perceived as the second in size place in Poland (after the Museum of Polish Army), where that much military equipment has been gathered.
Among permanent exhibitions one can see there: exhibit items connected with the “1939 Defensive War” and the equipment and uniform of the Polish Army soldiers from the period of the September Campaign. However, tourists are mostly interested with the open-air exhibition, where artillery guns, anti-tank and anti-aircraft cannons, tanks, armoured vehicles and military planes are gathered. The ORP (Vessel of the Polish Republic) “Odważny” seagoing motor torpedo boat and the German STUG IV self-propelled armoured fighting vehicle are the unique to Poland exhibits.
