Description
The Świętokrzyski (Holy Cross Mountains) Geopark is an area of exceptional natural and cultural value, which has held the status of a UNESCO Global Geopark since April 2021.
Centre for Geoeducation
This charming corner of the Świętokrzyskie region, encompassing the municipalities of Kielce, Chęciny, Morawica, Nowiny, and Piekoszów, offers an unforgettable journey through the history of the Earth and humanity, etched into the local landscape and numerous natural and architectural monuments.
Royal Castle in Chęciny
Insight into a geological past spanning over half a billion years is provided by numerous former quarries and rock formations that shape the peaks of modest hills interspersed with vast valleys. The landscape, sculpted by nature and human hands, is enriched by magnificent architectural landmarks, foremost among them the Royal Castle in Chęciny, as well as Karczówka and the Palace of the Krakow Bishops in Kielce.
Visitors interested in local cultural heritage and folk traditions will not be disappointed by a visit to the Ethnographic Park in Tokarnia and the Pottery Tradition Center in Chałupki.

The Świętokrzyski Geopark is the only place in the world where Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise neighbor each other in one area. This refers, of course, to the caves, including the most beautiful cave in Poland, named Raj (Paradise) for its extraordinarily rich dripstone formations. Following the trails of the underground world, one must not miss Kadzielnia, where besides exploring the caves, one can enjoy an exciting ride on the Kadzielnia Aerial View Trail Zipline.
From Kadzielnia, it’s a short trip to Wietrznia, where an unforgettable visit awaits at the Geoeducation Center. This is a place where adventure and fun offer insights into the geological history of the Świętokrzyskie region. Admiring the Devonian reef, facing a great armored fish, or embarking on an interactive journey in a time capsule will provide unforgettable emotions while gaining knowledge!
