The tree trunk is located about 3 metres above the ground and is supported by roots from which the wind has blown away the soil. Thanks to this above-ground root system, this unusual tree has been officially recognised as a natural monument since 2002.
In the Wełecki Forest, there is an unusual pine tree whose roots were exposed by local residents digging sand in a former sandpit. The tree survived and today, as a natural monument, it serves as a reminder of the tragic events of World War II. It was here that the Nazis shot prisoners from Pińczów and Busko. The pine tree, which now stands in the National Memorial Site, is a symbol of suffering and a tribute to the victims of the occupation. Nearby, there is also a monument commemorating the martyrdom of Poles and the site of the former summer colony "Górka", destroyed during the war.
