It was founded as a traveling theater by Stefan Karski in 1955. Its objective was to reach even the smallest villages and towns of the region. It acquired a permanent seat only after ten years, and since 1992 the Kubuś Puppet and Actor Theater boasts one of Poland"s best theater houses seating 150 spectators. Its repertoire is dominated by adaptations of fairy-tales and fables by Polish and foreign authors designated for children.
