Biesak - Białogon Reserve

Located on the south-western outskirts of Kielce, in the Dymiński Range, on the slopes of Kamienna Góra, it bears the local name of "Kamionka". While visiting the Biesak - Białogon Reserve, you can get to know the oldest rocks that in consequence of exploitation were exposed in all of Chęcińsko-Kielecki Landscape Park and our Archeogeological Trail.

Caves in Kadzielnia Reserve

Kadzielnia is a widely recognized landmark in Kielce. It is a hill 295 m high located in the south part of the city. On the slopes of the hill there once grew plants used for making incense which gave the hill its name.

Gagaty Sołtykowskie Nature Reserve

The reserve is located on the territory of the St ęporków commune. Established in 1997, its main purpose was to protect the outcrops of lower Jurassic rocks containing important minerals, fossils and various forms of ironstone.

    Geological attractiveness of Kielce is best proved by the presence of four inanimate nature reserves on the city’s territory. Very well-known is the Kadzielnia that contains an inselberg known as the Rock of Geologists located in the central part of the former open-pit quarry.

    Karczówka - Monastery and Reserve

    Karczówka is a picturesque hill located in the western part of the city of Kielce and topped with a beautiful post-Bernardine monastery founded by the Bishop Marcin Szyszkowski and dating back to the 17th century.

    Kielce is considered as a city of outstanding geological qualities with its four geological reserves located in the city’s area. The most famous of them is Kadzielnia reserve established in lieu of the former quarry.

    Krzemionki near Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski UNESCO

    In the archaeological reserve area of about 350 ha you can admire a well-preserved mining landscape, namely mine slag heaps and mineshaft wells as well as excellently reconstructed architecture of the underground dating back to 5 or 4 thousand years ago.

    Landscape Parks

    The Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship is exceptionally rich in protected areas. Apart from the Świętokrzyski National Park, there are as many as eight Landscape Parks.

    Mt Miedzianka – Nature Reserve

    The elongated massif of Mt Miedzianka has been placed under protection. It constitutes the north-westernmost located elevation of the Ch ęciny range of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. The plateau has three summits that are connected by a picturesque rocky ridge.
